For the first few months of the year I couldn’t pick up a book. For the first 6 weeks of Covid, there was even less chance of me attempting to do so. But in the last couple of months I’ve been able to get through quite a few, both for work and pleasure. Here are the ones I both enjoyed and strongly recommend. Most are available online and on kindle but the first four I’ve already reordered in paperback because there’s so much highlighting I need to do, to constantly return to. Our personal work is something we return to in cycles, and I definitely need reminding when it comes to body image stuff, low mood, and general stress. Oh, and “All the Single Ladies” is also en route now via paperback so I can remind myself of (happy) social reality over socially ingrained fairytales when forget! You don’t need to be single to enjoy this or “Spinster”, and actually both are written by married women. Ever Ancient, Ever New is available directly from doloreswhelan.ie. I also ADORED “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle but I forgot the photo below. Oops!
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did.
